Day 11
West Virginny passed a law making English its official language.
Blogs have no official language; English is de facto
the 'net's language.
Blogs are personal,
in the writer's conversational language for that language's readers.
Replace English, spoken by only one of four people in the world, with
the "universal language" Esperanto, spoken by a healthy one in 3,500 people.
It's hard to argue with
the man who spoke at the school meeting concerning adding "world" languages to
the curriculum: "Why have any foreign language classes? After all, if English was good
enough for Jesus Christ, it's good enough for me."
