Day 27

Raisin Debtor Part V
O wad some power the giftie gie us
To see oursel's as ithers see us!
It wad frae monie a blunder free us.
And foolish notion;
What airs in dress and gait wad lea'e us,
And ev'n devotion!
--from To a Louse by Robert Burns

The term empowerment gives me the willies, as does challenged, text (verb), and, frankly, bling. Their usage incites a dispurposementality in getting the point across. Except for bling. But, in fact, blogs empower people, allowing them to mark their epistemological territory and stake their claim to being that which (who?) is (are?) their mirror'd image(s?). At least to the extent they can pour forth the, well, spring of inner self that they perceive. If they win the intramural battle of "know thyself", serpentine through the mind fields of verbalization, and leap over the ditches of self-doubt, then hello, blog heaven.
