Day 6
"The yellow splash of daffodils brightened up the grey left wall of Miss Haskins' parlor".
Parlors, now usually preceded by beauty, massage, tattoo and funeral,
were proud mainstays of homes, where family and visitors would,
as the French say, parlez.
This nearly forgotten venue for light social conversation, where tone, bearing and gestures said
as much as the words spoken, accents the wispy emptiness of the blog, notebook or forum on the Web.
The broadening of access has come at the cost of withered impact of content.
Would that I have a parlor off the foyer of my wilderness cabin.
