Day 61
10/28/2006
"There must be some kind of way out of here",
Said the Joker to the Thief.
"There's too much confusion,
I can't get no relief."
-- Bob Dylan, All Along the Watchtower
...Back to the days of Christopher Robin and Pooh...
-- Kenny Loggins, House at Pooh Corner
The following is a Play in 1/16th of an Act.
Joker: played by Alan Schlesinger
Thief: played by Joe Lieberman
Christopher Robin: played by Ned Lamont
Setting: An empty stage, somewhat askew, with our players and two fruit boxes for seats.
J: Oh, soulful me! What have the darkened dizzies wraught?
CR: Will thou whine, while Dawn's nimble shafts yet hint appear?
T: I know a man, who knows a man.
A basket plump with deeds anew,
I must sour humble stew.
J: But looming yet the thunder roll,
Our clouds a-gather in the East.
T: None but I can gather in
With my withered cadremen
Provisions for full-safe encase.
CR: Your crumbling, mottled crew
Have naught but petty parts to play.
Is memory's haze a stumbling shoe,
I am Prince, and thus not you?
J: (weeping) I would lead.
Is simple truth of sight my fatal fault, indeed?
