Day 66
1/7/2007
It ain't necessarily so
It ain't necessarily so
De things dat yo' liable to read in de Bible
It ain't necessarily so
- from Porgy and Bess by George and Ira Gershwin
Truthiness is a satirical term invented by Stephen Colbert in reference to
the quality by which a person claims to know something intuitively,
instinctively, or "from the gut" without regard to evidence, logic, intellectual
examination, or actual facts (similar to the meaning of "bellyfeel", a Newspeak
term from George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four).

"I write, therefore I lie"... sometimes. Or eventually.
It seems the things of truth within
That I translate by noting them
Can easily be bent again,
Expressing better
(re-mix letters)
To more uphold their worthiness.
And if this conscience clear event
Is so far radar undiscov'd,
Then what hopes have I sifting words
When motives crawl less innocent?
Take a length of lonely passed port tube
And find fantastic folly fresh renewed.
If the simple standard set:
Does it feel truth when fed back in?
Then I a lie will feed and pare
And find a truth has flowered there.
